This is a beautiful late Victorian 18ct gold, diamond, pearl and black enamel mourning ring from 1899. The band has lovely engravings and cut outs (which originally would have held a plait of hair of a lost loved one).
In the centre of the black enamel is an old cut diamond of approximately 0.15ct of high colour (approx H/I) and good clarity (approx SI). Either side are two split pearls of good white colour.
The band, 7mm wide, is fully hallmarked for 18ct gold and the Chester assay office. It is also date marked for 1899.
